Prior to joining How2Recycle as a Project Associate, Alyssa worked for the State of Hawaiʻi, Department of Land and Natural Resources as a Staff Planner for the Conservation District. Alyssa received her Degree in Environmental and Sustainability Studies from George Mason University where she was apart of a TerraCycle collection project for hard-to-recycle plastic candy and snack wrappers. This experience sparked her interest in waste management and circular systems. When she’s not trying to save the world, you can find Alyssa hiking, traveling, testing out new workout classes, and exploring her city.
What is your why?
Having spent a lot of time in restoration efforts and enjoying nature, I feel a commitment to environmental stewardship. I find my greatest motivation in work that strives to leave a positive impact on the world around us.
