Prior to joining How2Recycle as the Project Associate, Amanda worked at Abercrombie & Fitch as a Product Sustainability Analyst. In this role, she educated and guided design teams to use environmentally friendly fabrics, ensuring alignment with the company’s corporate sustainability goals. Amanda received her Master of Textiles from North Carolina State University and Bachelor of Science in Apparel Design & Merchandising from Appalachian State University. While she has a background in sustainable fashion and textiles, Amanda is now aiming to amplify her impact through consumer education within sustainable package labeling. Her lifelong commitment to the environment drives her mission to leave a positive mark on the world. When she’s not trying to save the world, you can find Amanda hiking with her boyfriend and husky or cycling at her favorite studio.
What is your why?
“The planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it.” David Orr
