How2Recycle, a project of GreenBlue, is the leading on-package recycling labeling system in the US and Canada that empowers consumers to recycle more and recycle better. We also provide design guidance to brands, retailers, and other industry players to responsibly design their packaging with end-of-life in mind.
The Opportunity
How2Recycle is looking for someone who will provide excellent support for this fast-growing program. The ideal candidate will serve a mission critical role by assisting with recyclability request processing and flexing across functions based on team needs. With a focus on learning, cross-training, and responsiveness, this role plays a vital role in maintaining team workflow and quality by stepping in where needed and building a strong understanding of core team functions. This remote position is suited for an individual interested in actively moving the needle in sustainable packaging.

Responsibilities:
- Accurately process recyclability platform requests, adhering to established turnaround times and guidance
- Support teammates by providing task coverage when needed, including work on comments, second looks, proofs, or label updates
- Assist in various areas of the platform workflow as cross-training is completed, allowing for flexible coverage across functions
- Communicate directly with members when needed and under the guidance of Project Managers, to help resolve requests or clarify submissions
- Partner with R&D and technical team members by escalating questions or gathering context for more complex or technical requests
- Communicate any limitations in knowledge, time, or task capacity to support appropriate workload distribution and quality assurance
- Assist in gathering information for or helping with the implementation of new guidance and internal process updates
- Participate in team meetings, info sessions, or training opportunities to build understanding of recyclability assessments and platform workflows
- Serve as a support resource for both day-to-day operations and special projects, while continuing to build autonomy and confidence in key tasks
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture by offering help where possible and sharing observations that may improve team processes or efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in packaging, material science, sustainability (or related field) or 5 years of comparable experience
- Fundamental understanding of the recycling system, packaging supply chain, or material science
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Google Workspace, and project management tools (i.e. Click-Up)
- Background in packaging, UX/UI, project management, communication (or a combination)
- Experience communicating complex or technical topics to varied audiences
