At How2Recycle, we’re always working to make sure that our program and Member Platform maintains the integrity of our label, protects our members, and gives consumers the most accurate on-pack information. As part of our ongoing efforts to advance our mission, we’re sharing two upcoming updates to our Member Platform and proofing process.
Archiving Pre-2022 Proof Needed Requests
This June, we’ll continue improving our systems by transitioning requests that were submitted before 2022 from the “Action Required – Proof Needed” status to “Completed – Declined to Label, Failure to Submit Proof.”
The label assignments for these requests will no longer be available for download, and if you’re still interested in receiving feedback on these requests, you’ll be required to resubmit them.
As a reminder, How2Recycle labels should only appear on packages with artwork that’s been approved by our team. You can learn more about our guidance in our Membership Agreement and Guidelines for Use, which you can access in your Member Platform.
Updating Guidance on Artwork Proofs
Additionally, starting in June 2025, we’ll introduce updated guidance to our artwork proof process to ensure that label assignments remain valid. Here’s how the new process will work:
- Requests will remain in the “Action Required – Proof Needed” status for up to two years.
- After nine months, the status will be updated to serve as a reminder that the artwork proof is still required.
- Your team will have another 15 months to submit the required artwork proof.
- If the artwork proof is not submitted within these two years, the request will be updated to “Completed – Declined to Label, Failure to Submit Proof”.
When the status changes, your team will receive both an email notification and an inbox notification within the Member Platform.
For artwork with lead times longer than two years, we recommend using the R&D request feature and duplicating the submission when the artwork is within the 2-year timeframe.
Thank you for your continued partnership. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to the How2Recycle team at how2recycle@greenblue.org.
