GreenBlue is an environmental nonprofit whose mission is to accelerate the transition to a regenerative, just, and sustainable materials economy. Our key projects include the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and the How2Recycle on-pack labeling system. 

 

The Opportunity:

GreenBlue’s Marketing and Communications team is seeking a Project Manager, Marketing Communications and Events to join its team. This is a temporary position lasting approximately 90 days. When this position ends, a full-time, regular position with benefits may be offered at the full discretion of the organization. This role will work closely with the rest of the Marketing and Communications team, the GreenBlue team at large and a variety of external stakeholders supporting the production of GreenBlue Marketing Communications initiatives and events. This is a temp-to-hire, remote position based in the Continental US.

The Project Manager, Marketing Communications and Events will:

  • Play a central role in GreenBlue events and partner events’ planning and organization 
  • Be responsible for budgeting and financial management, budget reconciliation and managing event expenditures 
  • Take the lead in vendor coordination and logistics 
  • Create detailed timelines and act as project manager for the team, per event, coordinating the different roles and responsibilities and team communication 
  • Be responsible to monitor and track GB’s room block commitments at venues and proactively resolve challenges as they present 
  • Manage on-site event execution, consider risk management and prepare contingency plans for unexpected scenarios 
  • Support the marketing of GreenBlue events, coordinating with the Associate Director Marketing Communication on marketing campaigns for events 
  • Support Associate Director Marketing Communications in post-event long form content creation and event recaps 
  • Support sponsorships delivery and develop strong relationships with sponsors and supporting partners to increase retention year over year 
  • Coordinate exhibit hall logistics and related vendors 
  • Support Marketing Communications team as needed

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or event management and minimum 7 years of related work experience or equivalent combination, including at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • Experience working at or with a nonprofit organization 
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and event logistics  
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 
  • Experience with Event marketing campaigns planning and implementation 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Canva and event tech stack including presentations (slide decks) management 
  • Experience using Clickup is a plus. 
  • Experience with website management, especially with Wordpress  
  • Experience cultivating, negotiating, and managing relationships with key stakeholders and vendors. 
  • Experience writing event marketing copy (long and short form) 
  • Experience fostering an environment of creativity and professional growth. 
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment and collaborating and implementing multiple projects. 

 

This role will be assessed at 30 and 60 days.
