How2RecycleLogo(R)LargeCHARLOTTESVILLE, VA., March 30, 2015 – WhiteWave Foods, a leading consumer packaged food and beverage company, is the latest to join the How2Recycle label program. WhiteWave will be using the label on its North American brands: Silk, So Delicious Dairy Free, Vega, Horizon, Wallaby Organic, Earthbound Farm, International Delight and Land O’Lakes*. WhiteWave Foods joins more than 45 other member companies currently using the How2Recycle label to ensure that consumers receive clear instructions on how to dispose of packaging materials.

“We are very excited to welcome WhiteWave Foods to How2Recycle,” said Kelly Cramer, Project Manager at the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. “People should keep their eyes out for the How2Recycle label across a variety of WhiteWave food and beverage products in the coming year.”

44897806_14531164575349_rId6WhiteWave’s membership in How2Recycle reinforces the company’s commitment to promoting recycling and consumer education. WhiteWave works from the assumption that every material has a potential end-of-life scenario other than going to a landfill.

“One of the many ways WhiteWave is changing the way the world eats for the better® is through our commitment to sustainability,” says Wendy Behr, SVP, R&D and Sustainability. “We are constantly looking for ways to broaden our commitment to improving sustainability while educating consumers about how to responsibly dispose of our packaging materials. The How2Recycle label educates consumers about how to further reduce the environmental impact of our products and promote sustainability.”

The How2Recycle Label is a U.S.-based standardized labeling system that clearly communicates recycling instructions to the public. How2Recycle is a project of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition®, a membership-based group that brings together business, educational institutions, and government agencies to collectively broaden the understanding of packaging sustainability and develop meaningful improvements for packaging solutions.
