GreenBlue Board of Directors Welcomes Two New Members

(CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., July 22, 2026) — The GreenBlue Board of Directors has welcomed two new members, Alejandra Anaya, senior manager of Sustainability & Compliance at Sephora, and Britt Staley, senior director of Innovation for Consumer Packaging North America at Smurfit Westrock. With their combined experience in sustainable packaging initiatives and regulatory compliance, Anaya and Staley will serve as strategic advisors advancing GreenBlue’s mission of building a regenerative, just, and sustainable materials economy.

Anaya and Staley join the Board as Smurfit Westrock’s Chris Davidson and Matt Thorsen step down after years of dedicated work in service of advancing sustainable packaging practices. GreenBlue is grateful to Davidson and Thorsen for their years of strategic guidance and industry insight during their service on the Board. GreenBlue looks forward to seeing the continued impact of Davidson and Thorsen’s leadership across our industry, and to all that Staley and Anaya will contribute during their tenures on GreenBlue’s Board.

“We’re proud to welcome Alejandra Anaya and Britt Staley to GreenBlue’s Board of Directors,” said GreenBlue Board President Matthew Realff. “Alejandra brings a sharp understanding of the regulatory and consumer-facing realities shaping sustainable packaging, and Britt brings deep experience generating and scaling innovation into sustainable packaging solutions. Their leadership will help GreenBlue serve its members as they shape the next era of sustainable packaging.”

Members of GreenBlue’s Board of Directors strategically guide the environmental nonprofit and its projects. The nonprofit’s flagship projects, the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and How2Recycle, represent more than 1,200 member organizations. With support from the Board of Directors, GreenBlue advances its mission through its members, providing them with the research, resources, and platforms they need to prioritize sustainable materials progress over any one organization’s agenda.

Today, GreenBlue’s Board comprises 12 independent members who contribute expertise from a diversity of roles across the packaging value chain to advance GreenBlue’s mission.

“I am thrilled and deeply honored to join the GreenBlue Board and support its mission to advance sustainable and just packaging systems,” Alejandra Anaya said. “As someone passionate about driving environmental impact through collaboration and practical solutions, I’m excited to contribute to the organization’s important work and help shape the future of packaging.”

“I’m excited to join the GreenBlue Board and help tackle the systems-level challenges that come with building a more circular economy,” Britt Staley said. “Throughout my career, I’ve always loved connecting ideas to real-world applications—translating customer needs into practical, scalable solutions across the value chain. I’m looking forward to contributing that perspective to help advance GreenBlue’s mission.”
